The Bureau is responsible for coordinating Florida's public health and healthcare system preparedness and response to incidents and events of all types. The preparedness effort focuses on developing critical capabilities necessary for an effective response.
The Bureau consists of multiple sections that manage preparedness and response programs, projects, and deliverables. These activities are funded in part by cooperative grant agreements with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ,the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
